It's Good to Be a Hoarder...

Okay... it is actually NOT good to be a hoarder.  I guess I should rephrase and say it's good to be a saver.  When I was expecting Hope, Martha Stewart was still making an awesome magazine called "Martha Stewart Baby".  Guess who SAVED all of her issues?  ;)  Yes, my mother constantly called me a pack rat.  In a lot of ways that is true, but in this case it works perfectly because I'm already planning all of the little projects I'm doing for Pepper (new baby's nickname... don't tell Hope- she has revoked the name and claimed it for her new Blythe).

I'm actually not as good a 'saver' as I used to be.  I'm missing an issue, which means I probably lent it to a friend and never got it back.  I'm also terrific at that.  ;)  Have a lovely Tuesday!  xo Katie

Today I Vow...

I was browsing dresses online this morning and I had a moment.  You know, the moment where you stand back, realize what you are doing, and shake your head at yourself.  I am not a good browser.  Shopping=buying for me.  So, today...

I VOW:

Not to buy a dress for a month.  I think this will be a healthy exercise for me.  Also...

(image from weheartit.com)

*I vow to clean the clothes out of my floor today.
*I vow to finish designing 2 things I'm working on for Renegade.
*I vow to have a picnic outside with my girl and enjoy this gorgeous weather.

See?  Now I have to do these things.  Vows are serious business.  ;)  xoxo Katie

4 Simple Goals

I'm sure most of you are familiar with Elsie's 4 Simple Goals project.  I think it's a fantastic idea, and though I am late to the game (in my defense I was out of town when this was posted), I thought I'd participate.

1.  Get organized.  I've been doing my best lately to declutter my house and be a more organized person in general, but this will be especially important with our home school adventure.  No losing papers or sifting through random piles for us!
2.  Have THE BEST time in Chicago.  My Renegade experience last year was a little on the stressful side, and I'm leaving all that behind this year.  I want to enjoy every second, have that special pancake breakfast I was promised (ahem, Kateri...), and maybe find a pretty dress to suit my growing middle.  ;)
3.  Collect pretties.  It's time to start collecting pretties for a nursery that should be close to completion by January.  I'm really excited about this goal.  :)

4.  Write letters.  I have a list SOOOO long of people I need to send letters to.  I just bought some adorable stationary, and I'm going to take the time to snail mail each and every one of them sweet, sentimental notes.

I hope your week is wonderful so far!  I'll be back tomorrow with another vacation post.  :)

The Storybook Rabbit makes the prettiest plates ever!

Thank you to EVERYONE for such warm wishes and e-love!  Life has been crazy around here this summer, and this has been a large piece of that puzzle.  Now, 3 weeks till Renegade Chicago.  Time for work, work, WORK!  xoxo Katie

Vacation Fun...

I thought I'd share a few pictures from our getaway.  When I have loads of pictures I usually end up feeling overwhelmed and never edit them, but I'm doing my best to sift through all of these so I can share a few of our fun times.

We drove through MO, IL, IN, OH, WVa, PA and took a trip to NJ, so we saw LOTS of sights- some typical and some not so typical...

Some of us had a pretty sweet set-up...

We experienced some gorgeous weather...

We built forts...

We spent some time with some amazingly sweet people (Steven, that includes you)...

I totally geeked out at a mini-golf course...

 And we did some resting...

I have lots more to come, but for now I need to get caught up on Skunkboy emails and finish planning Hope's birthday party that will be held on Saturday.  I hope your week is lovely.  xo Katie

We're Home!

No joke.  We are home.  It was such a fantastic vacation, but my bed has never felt so good!  I'll get my photos edited and my thoughts gathered in the next few days.  For now, it's sleeping time!

Having Quite the Time...

I just wanted to pop in and say hello.  :)  We are having SUCH a wonderful time with our friends, and cramming as much into these two weeks as humanly possible.  Internet service is even spottier out here than I imagined, so blogging hasn't really happened, but this has been a pretty welcomed break from the online world.  Not that there isn't so much good to it, and so many wonderful people, but it's nice to feel like you are part of a small, intimate bubble again.  Sometimes there is so much to look at and read and do on the internet, that I find myself consumed by it.  This has been really nice.  :)

I'll be back sometime next week with lots of stories and pictures, but for now... I'm out.  ;)

xoxo Katie
