Hope's grandma got her this little curio shelf and a box full of little cats for Christmas. When Hope was first unwrapping all of the cats, I could tell she appreciated the gesture, but didn't really "get" the gift. It wasn't until we hung this little shelf on her wall that she got really excited about it. She searched her room for more cats (because this shelf is a "cats only" club) and whenever we go thrifting or on trips, she's constantly searching for the perfect kitties to place in her shelf. I know it's something she'll cherish and remember fondly from her childhood one day when she's all grown.
I see this warped little shelf filled with cats as a classic case of "sometimes you don't even know what you want until it's handed it to you". I think we can all related with that at certain points in our lives. You are handed something in life with a big question mark on your face, and over time you end up realizing just how special it is. Some of my best relationships/experiences/jobs started out like this. Life can be so funny that way.

Collections
We've found many additions to our little house collection since we first moved in. I can remember how painfully slow it felt to start this collection of tiny things. The house looked so empty, but I refused to rush it. I wanted to find the perfect trinkets to fill it out. I finally feel like we are "getting there" and really, there are only a few things left to replace.
Yay for progress!

I Am Collecting A Collection: Lenticular Art
This collection of mine is growing, but is still modest. If you aren't familiar with lenticular photos, they are those 3D pictures that sometimes make your eyes go crazy. I've been slowly adding a piece here and there, and I'm finally to a point where I'm ready to share my beginnings. It all started with the Goldilocks picture, the smaller ones trickled in one by one, and the Little Red Riding Hood was a Christmas gift. (<--the best="" br="" christmas="" gift="">--the>
I'm excited to add my newest piece to my collection! It arrived in the mail this weekend. :)
You can see my other Collection posts here. Happy Wednesday!

I Am Collecting A Collection: Teapots
When I was young and living with my parents, my mom's favorite description of me was "pack rat". I have always been a keeper, a saver, a collector. This (obviously) has its pros and cons, but I feel like, as an adult, I'm getting a better at reining it in. Sure I have collections (and collections) around my house, but finding places to neatly share and display these groups of wonderful things is key. I noticed recently that I have accidentally started a collection of pretty teapots, so I'm going to roll with it. Here is the beginning of my collection:
The swan teapot is from ModCloth, the kitty teapot was my great grandmother's, and the yellow teapot was a hand-me-down.
I'm pretty excited to see where this collection (slowly) goes. I just need to fight the urge to go out and buy every cute teapot I see.

Guest Post: I Am Collecting A Collection
Hi, everyone! It's Hope again! Sorry I've been so quiet lately. I have had lots of playing to squeeze in before summer was over.
Today I want to talk about collections. I have a lot of collections. I collect Littlest Pet Shop, rocks, buttons, and vintage dresses. Really I just collect a lot of dresses, but I really love my vintage ones. I like vintage dresses because not only do I get to collect them, but I get to wear them! That is what I call functional! Also they are very pretty and mostly no one else has them! These are some of my favorites.
I have a lot more! When we go to flea markets sometimes you find good dresses, but mostly not. I find most of my dresses from friends and some of my Mommy's friends. A lot of these were gifts which makes me HAPPY because getting gifts is FUN!
The fun part about collections is you get to keep searching and searching as long as you want! I really love collecting things. Thanks for reading! --Hope
**Special thanks to Elsie, Rachel, Amanda, and Sandi.
