Music on a Tuesday

Johnny and I are guilty of doing that nerdy thing where you buy each other the same record for Christmas, or whatever holiday.  Yes, it's a little cute, but it's something I try my hardest to avoid.  Fortunately, this year there was none of that!  It's awesome having similar tastes in music when you live with someone... it's like getting double gifts!  Here are a few of the records we gifted to each other this year (for Christmas) that I can't stop listening to:

Arcade Fire: The Suburbs.  This one hasn't left my turntable in 4 days.  I love everything about it!

Spoon:  Gimme Fiction.  I love every Spoon album I've ever heard.  Period.

Band of Horses: Cease to Begin.  This is the kind of album you never want to end.  BoH music makes me feel nerdy and emotional (or, nerdy for being emotional).

Nick Drake: Pink Moon.  This is one my most favorite albums.  I can't believe it's taken us this long to get it on vinyl!

The Beach Boys:  Good Vibrations.  We are a family who loves our Beach Boys.

So how about you?  Did you get any great music for the holidays?  I can't wait to hear.  xoxo Katie

  3. Sadly I didn't get any music for christmas. Though the dear people at the job I recently left bought me music vouchers for my leaving present, so I am racking my brains of what to buy with them. There is so much I'd like and some vinyl has to be a must

  4. Those are some great choices! I actually just used That's The Way We Get By by Spoon for my Musical Monday post yesterday :D and I am a *massive* BoH fan as well.

I didn't get any music for Christmas, but I have gotten music recently including Jack Savoretti - Harder than Easy, Christina Perri, and The Weepies among others :)

  8. I didn't get any new music for Christmas (because I change my favourite band so frequently it is hard for anyone to keep up with what I am in love with at the moment.) But right now I am loving the newest albums of Joshua Radin and James Blunt.

PS I LOVE your blog makeover! :)

  10. All great music! But..I have to say, any time I start listening to Arcade Fire I listen to it for at least the next two weeks, every time! It never gets old and The Suburbs is my favorite album from them. So so good! :) I have to agree though with Kristin, I'm loving Best Coast's "Crazy About You" album! SO beachy and summery :)

  14. Nope, didn't get any music, but I agree w the Spoon comment, and the Beach Boys album reminds me of my BFF, we would listen to it over and over and over, such dorky children we were. And you have a Birthday coming up tomorrow! I am not a crazy stalker, just remember because last year you posted it and it's the day before mine, so in case you don't post tomorrow, Happy Birthday!!!

I gave my husband an Apollo Sunshine album, and he gave me Laura Veirs' latest. We're addicted!
