Music Monday: Jenny Lewis

I know a lot of you will be made happy by the title of this post.

  I mean, how could you not love this lady?  ;)  It's no secret, I don't

typically love females in music.  I'm

not sure what it is, but it takes a pretty special, captivating woman to

win me over.  That being said, Jenny Lewis has more than won me

over.  We had the privilege of seeing her live last year, and Johnny and I 

would both rank her high in the "Live Shows to See" category.  Her vocals 

were phenomenal, her band impressively tight and entertaining, and 

her relationship with the crowd special.  Though I don't fancy 

Rilo Kiley, I do believe  her time in that band to be an 

integral part of who she has become as a musician.

Happy Friday!

I'd love to hear what you all are doing over the weekend!  We are staying with some friends tonight and (hopefully) eating a delicious pancake breakfast in the morning.  *hint, hint*  I really want to see the new Alice in Wonderland movie in 3d.  Have you seen it yet?  Is it too icky for a 7 year old who loves creepy things?  I'd be interested in your opinions.  Keep in mind Hope loves Coraline, Nightmare Before Christmas, Sleepy Hollow, etc...

I feel like it's necessary to wait and see it in 3d, though.  They do have a certain magic about them, don't you think? 

I'm off to do things and things and things.  Oh!  Look at my crazy hair!  I started showering before bed and gave up the blow dryer, and this is what has happened:

I kinda love it.  It's so easy.  I straighten my bangs, add a few waves to the top, and start my day!

Wow.  This week is almost over!  I can't believe how quickly it has gone.  I thought I'd pop in and share some good things with you.  :)

Good Thing #1:  Fun weekends and Birthday Parties

I made a dino for sweet Erin's birthday.  I'm pretty sure it was a hit.  ;)

Good Thing #5:  Not Being Sick ANYMORE

I've been sick for about 2 months straight, and this is the first (half of a) week that I actually don't feel ill.  I have to say, it's quite an amazing feeling.

Music Monday: Joanna Newsom

Today's Music Monday is Joanna Newsom.  A year ago I would not have
believed that I would be typing that.  The first time I heard Ms.
Newsom was live, on a late show, and all I could think is, "Wow, this girl is
talented, but why does she have to sing so silly?"  Now, along with
my great admiration for her harp skills, her voice has become something I adore.
Not to mention, my daughter does a pretty hilarious

and killer impression of her.  :)
