Skunkboy Ornament Shop Udate

Skunkboy Ornaments Horse ornament via Skunkboy Creatures Yellow Bird Ornament Skunkboy Ornaments
I mentioned there might be a shop update today, but I'm moving it to tomorrow at 5pm CST.  All ornaments will be ready to ship (no made-to-order ornaments this year) so you can get them quickly and enjoy them for as long as possible.  Here's a link to the shop so you can check it out tomorrow, if you'd like.

Happy Monday, friends!

Etsy Love

I've been doing lots of holiday shopping/browsing lately, trying to get everyone checked off my list.  What better place to do a little gift searching than Etsy?  Here are some things I've been loving lately.

These mittens (above) by AIYshop look SO COZY!

I'm totally in love with this darling patch by Double Yellow Line.

This beardy fella by Evie Barrow is so good!

I have the perfect spot for these wonderful mushrooms by Herman Marie!

It took all of my willpower not to buy myself this tote by Triangle Trees.

The hardest part about shopping such a great handmade marketplace is buying things for everyone and not MYSELF!  Happy Friday, friends!  xo.

Mother, Daughter

Mother, Daughter Mother, Daughter Mother, Daughter Mother, Daughter
Guys, how in the world are we four days into December?  That feels so crazy to me!  Johnny and I just celebrated our wedding anniversary on the 2nd and his birthday is right around the corner on the 6th.  December is always our craziest month because of all the birthdays (Johnny, my bro in law Joey, my mom), our anniversary, my busiest Skunkboy Creatures month and Christmas EVERYTHING (I love Christmas everything).  We are playing in a Beatles tribute show this Saturday, so we've been preparing for that and I could not be more excited.  I look forward to this show every year.  There is certainly a lot going on, but I wouldn't trade any of it.  I WOULD maybe give myself a few extra hours each day (30 hour days could be pretty productive, right?), but that's not possible so I'll cram in what I can.  :))

On Katie-- Dress: c/o Lykke Wullf;  Shirt: F21;  Tights: ASOS (last year);  Shoes: ABM for Swedish Hasbeens;  Clutch: c/o Mallory

On Hope-- Jacket: c/o Minni Wullf;  Shirt: Marshalls;  Pants: Target;  Shoes: c/o Minnetonka

On Poesy-- Overalls: c/o Minni Wullf;  Shirt: vintage;  Shoes: Toms

We've been going to quite a few holiday parties lately (and more to come), and I have to say, I love getting everyone dressed up for them.  We were invited to a friendsgiving last weekend and it was the perfect time to wear our new Lykke Wullf duds.  Somehow Hope always ends up stealing the show in these Mother, Daughter photos... which I absolutely love.  That girl has some major hair... and the sweetest smile.  She's great.

Anyway, I hope your week has been treating you right!  I'm a little more behind on ornaments than I planned, so I'll be putting everything I have made in the shop on Monday!  xo.

Holiday Crafting-- I Made A Wreath

Christmas Craftin
Somehow December has happened, and before the weekend I had NO Christmas decorations up.  I know lots of people wait until after Thanksgiving, so that statement doesn't seem that extreme, but in our house rule is THERE ARE NO RULES after October 31st.  (Yes, I used to try and put up my tree before Halloween.)  I've cooled off on the super early decorating in my later years, but I still like to have everything up before Thanksgiving and I just hadn't gotten to it yet.  This weekend was all about decorating the house and Christmas crafting.  I don't typically get to make much time for it, but the few crafts I do during November/December are some of my most enjoyed moments.

Some of our friends offered us this huge tub of plastic ornaments this summer and in typical Katie fashion, I said "why not"?  Just because they didn't have an immediate purpose didn't mean that I couldn't use them in the future.  This is also the exact reason our basement is overrun by THINGS.  Lots and lots of them.  Long story short:  I used the ornaments.

Here's a visual of how I put it together if you are interested.  I didn't have an existing wreath to glue the balls directly onto, so I cut a piece of cardboard into a wreath shape and filled in the gaps with silver tinsel limbs.  Super easy!  Oh, and I listened to the whole Sufjan Stevens Christmas album this day because that was necessary.

Bring on all the holiday type things because I am ready! Oh, and HAPPY DECEMBER!  xo.
