Hello From Disney

I don't know if I've said this previously, but this is my very first time at Disney.  I'm not a theme park fan (at all), but there have definitely been some magical points.  The Japan store at Epcot?  So fun!  Watching the lady cut out tiny silhouettes of my kids?  Amazing!  Going on the "It's a Small World Ride"?  Heaven.  Just... can I please live in there?  I'm considering moving to Florida so I can work in that ride.  Okay, maybe that isn't a true statement, but in my dreams...

Here's a bit of "Music Monday" love for you as well.  I stayed up waaaaay too late watching episodes of Austin City Limits the other night, and I was reminded all over again of my love for Joanna Newsom.

We are off to the beach today because my poor little ankles can't handle anymore walking.  It's a good trade if you ask me.  Have a wonderful day, friends!  xoxo Katie

  6. Congrats on your first Disney trip! I love Disney World. Be sure to set aside some time to go to Animal Kingdom. It's the newest of the parks and IMO you really can't beat the set design there. Just strolling around and looking at the buildings is amazing, to say nothing of the rides and shows. ;)

  8. We went to Disney Land Paris when I was little & I made my family ride It's A Small World over & over. When I went back when I was older it was still amazing!

  10. Just got back from Disney World about two weeks ago. It is SUCH a magical place. I have to say, I do love rides and the whole theme park thing, but one of the greatest things about Disney is all the different cultures and people it attracts; which means how many different outfits you see! I love just grabbing a Mickey ice cream sandwich and just see what people are wearing. :)

  11. I went to Disneyland 6 times through out my childhood and teens. I love it, and I have begged my husband for a road trip to California to go, but he just isn't into Disney. When we have kids one day maybe I'll be able to convince him. Enjoy the rest of your trip, I am so jealous!
Also Joanna Newsom is amazing, brings me back to high school days.

  16. My fiance just went to Disney with a high school choir, and he got silhouettes made of us too! The guy actually did mine from a cell phone picture & it's amazing!
We've decided to go there on our honeymoon & it will be my first time - too excited!

  17. That ride was one of my favs at that particular park. It was really pretty and cute. The tower of terror was the funnest though, and the haunted mansion is unmissable! I just went in November, it was my first time too.

  18. I went to the LA Disneyland/world/place/thing a few years ago. I expected it to be really naff and embarrassing, but isn't it SO MUCH FUN?! Hope you enjoy the rest of your holiday!

  19. Aww glad you're enjoying it! Disney world is the best (even though I've been a thousand times, I live so close) unfortunately for me, after being stuck on its a small world with an upset 2 year old for half an hour... I don't do that ride any more!!

  22. Oh DisneyWorld. One of my all time favorite places. I'm fortune enough that I've always lived only a few hours from it too. Epcot is one of the best (especially for adults). And Magic Kingdom is definitely a close second.
Hope yall are having a fabulous time! It's definitely the perfect time to visit.

  24. My friend also got back from Disney a few weeks ago, and I was so jealous of their winter vacation there! I haven't been to Disney yet, but I'm hoping to go there before the year ends. BTW, I so love that feel-good video! It brightened up my dull day here at home. =)

  25. We have gone in the winter 11 times...so fun and we are taking our three kids again next year!!! I too love Mitsukoshi, the store in Japan. There is so much awesome shopping in EPCOT's World Showcase I am beside myself each time. Fortunately you can buy it and they will deliver it to your room if you're on property. I always load up on glowwine, papel picado, Japanese toys/designer chop sticks and German candy while there. I can't carry any luggage on the plane! What hotel are you staying in?

I'm going to Disneyland, Paris in March with my friends and I can't wait!
