Snapshots

Snapshots Snapshots Snapshots Snapshots Snapshots Snapshots Snapshots Snapshots Snapshots
I just realized how long it's been since I've done a Snapshots post!  This winter is flying by in a serious way.  We're still in the process of unpacking, but that's a never-ending task (at least for us), so that's no surprise.  I bought myself a programmable bread maker and it's the best thing ever.  Waking up to the smell of freshly baked bread is 100% wonderful.  I have a beginner's knitting group meeting at my house tomorrow night and I'm so pumped about it.  I met a talented gal at a local craft show back in November and she's going to be our teacher.  I find that there's a lot more productivity at gatherings like this when you have a guide.  Also, I love any excuse to have people over for wine and snacks and chatting.

Now, I'm off to tackle that weekly checklist.  I actually haven't managed to check anything off this week, but today's my day.  I can feel it.  xo.

A Cheery Little Corner

Progress in Poesy's room
I've been working away on the house since we got back from Nashville.  There's something about going to such a fun city brimming with cuteness AND seeing your talented friends' new spaces that gets you moving on your own place when you get back home.  I actually have 3 pals in Nashville (all with very different styles) that have moved into new homes, and it was inspiring to see what fresh things they've incorporated.

I've been battling Poesy's clothing explosion non-stop lately.  The girl loves to pick her clothes daily, and I'm all about that, but expecting her to hang and fold things properly in her tiny closet was entirely impractical.  She didn't have an actual dresser, just some shelves, and reaching the top clothing bar to pull dresses was tricky for her.  When there isn't a well-designated area for cleanup, whether it be clothes or toys, it's unfair to expect a 5 year old to have the vision for where to put things.

I was pretty excited to find this little vintage dresser to solve our storage problem, especially since I've been so dry in the thrift score department lately.  I love that I got to incorporate some of the special things from her old room into the new one.  I've missed these cheery little bits and bobs.

I'm all about giving kiddos small responsibilities once they have the right tools for those expectations.  Now, let's see if she can learn to put her stuff away a little better than her mother.  Leading by example isn't always easy.  ;)

Panda Pearl is Here!!!

Skunkboy Panda Pearl Skunkboy Panda Pearl Skunkboy Panda Pearl Skunkboy Panda Pearl
I'm so excited to announce the arrival of my new frame color, Panda Pearl!  Last year I started working with BonLook on another color for my "Skunkboy" frames.  I knew I wanted to offer another semi-classic.  Don't get me wrong, I love my pink glitter glasses, but I definitely wear my tortoise on a more regular basis.  Black was the obvious choice here, but I wanted to give it a little more flair.  So, Katie, stick some lovely pearl on those bad boys and make them feel everyday fancy!  I seriously love them and I hope you do, too!  I never imagined designing glasses, but here I am.  Boy-oh-boy does it feel so cool and rewarding to step outside that comfort zone!  xo.
