My first taste of sewing was when I was around 8. My grandma would give me two pieces of fabric and I would stitch together 3 sides to make pockets. I dropped a couple of sizes recently and don't want to say goodbye to my favorite pieces. I hand sew most projects, like the plushies I make. However, handstitching those alterations doesn't seem like a long lasting fix. I have a sewing machine my parents bought for me. But I dare not touch my pile for fear I will feed it to the machine and make a ginormous mess!!! Also, I have curtains to shorten from the top, since the detailing at the bottom is what I love, the no sew option won't help me. Normally, all my sewing needs, I take to my best friend and we gossip and catch up on life as she sews with whimsical speed, but I would love to become more self sufficient and DIY. I would love to learn from you talented ladies.
