We took a float trip with some friends several weeks back, and I brought one of those disposable water cameras with us. I LOVE the way these photos turned out. The camera progressively got cloudier and cloudier the longer I used it, so some of the photos have this crazy dreamy effect. I'll put the pictures in sequential order so you can see the progression.

As you can see by the end, it became pretty useless. I'm not sure what happened, but the plastic cover seemed to have a reaction to something. I'll be interested to use another one and see if I get the same sort of result. I still love all the pictures, though. I just bought a bunch of photo albums at the store the other night, so I'm going to get all my disposable pictures organized and in albums really soon!
Thanks so much for all of the birthday wishes for Hope! She read through all of them and was really touched. I hope you all had a wonderful weekend!
I love that dreamy effect. Alcohol will do that too.

That's so rad. I love that it occurred naturally. It adds pizzazz without having to do any actual editing. :] // itsCarmen.com ☼ ☯

See it's fabulous how terrible and amazing and awefully lovely these are.
ReplyDeleteYears ago we'd be all "Hey that's an aweful camera" but now - now we just want life in the pictures, and we want to try something new and challenging and stimulating.
It worked.
You made it lovely, and lively.
Those cameras are the best. It looks like you had fun on your trip :)
ReplyDeleteJust a little while ago, it seems, so many would have not wanted to see pictures that were imperfect, or taken with less than the best camera. But now when we - you - can take so many perfect pictures, we like to see the challenge, and the life in the photos. Haziness and unexpected "defects" become lovely things that prove you were making happy memories.
ReplyDeleteAnd of course, they really are lovely photos.
I'm loving all your disposable camera posts this year!
