Weekly Wears: Treasure Hunt

I spent several hours combing over flea markets yesterday and ended coming home with some good stuff.  I don't really get to flea markets like I used to and it was really nice to steal some hours in the day to do just that.  I found a really great plant stand (with pink shelves!) that I've already painted and set up in the living room to replace the giant one that was in there before.  There were some other goodies that I snatched up as well, but more than just shopping for whatever, it was nice to just zone out for a while.  Sometimes you need a bit of that.

Dress: c/o Ever+Mi.Crush;  Shirt: American Apparel;  Bag: ABM for Kelly Moore;  Boots (similar): ModCloth;  Sunglasses: Urban Outfitters (last year)

I wanted to mention that the American Blogger documentary I was interviewed for last spring is out now, and I'm really grateful for the clips of our family that Chris captured.  I know someday when I'm a grey haired woman and my kids are grown, seeing what our little family was like at this stage will be so precious to me.  You can more info here.   xo. 6. Flea market shopping is just so fun. I love that you can find such good quality pieces there and it's not horrible Made In China type stuff that falls apart.

  7. Gorgeous outfit Katie! I really wanted to buy that bag but the color looked more green than mint to me. In these pictures I find it looks a bit of a paler green, like, closer to mint than emerald. Did you edit your photos or is that the actual color?

    1. It's a pretty deep green/teal. I really like the color saturation in real life, but it may not be what you're looking for. Hope that helps!

  11. Flea markets are one of my favourite places to spend a few hours! It's exciting that you don't know what you'll find, and it's even more exciting being able to find things you overlooked during your first three walk arounds :P

    1. Aw, thanks so much! The best part about the whole experience is when Hope saw her slow motion flip on the trampoline and with wide eyes said, "It's SO COOL that I'm in a movie!" I think she impressed herself with her mad trampoline skills. ;)

    1. Sometimes it's easier to find stuff if you go frequently. Then you don't have to scour the whole store to find good stuff, you can just skim!

  19. the American Blogger docu got bad press for the lack of diversity in the bloggers featured. It kind of got a harsh review on Gawker. I don't think it was saying anything negative about the bloggers themselves tho. I was so excited when I saw that you were featured on it and felt defensive when I read it. : [

    1. Yeah, the trailer did get some bad press, for sure. I love and respect so many of the women in the film and think they did a good job sharing their hearts. I enjoyed it myself, and I hope there's another one in the coming years that gives more people in different blogging genres the opportunity to share their perspectives. :)
