Snapshots: Patio Party

I blogged recently about carrying my camera around more and just enjoying the little bits of life captured in photos.  So far it's been amazing and I've been loving it.  I have folders and folders of everyday life, and I know I will cherish these pictures in the future.  Here are some snapshots from a little spontaneous patio party we had.

Before you get all excited (Vanessa), no, we didn't get a dog.  We are dog-sitting for Johnny's mom right now, so Miss Carly has been joining in on our family fun.

Poor Poe needs a trim so badly, but I just can't bring myself to cut her hair!  I keep it pulled back as much as possible, but she loooooves to rip barrettes right out.  She doesn't seem to mind the hair in her face, so maybe we'll just power through.  ;)

I hope you are having a lovely week so far!

  8. Hah, looks like the adorable puppy is eyeing that marshmallow. I would be too if I were him. He actually kinda looks like a cute marshmallow himself. =)

    Love the succulent planter.

    1. I got my current one from Marshall's, but ModCloth has some REALLY cute ones right now, too. I agree, it's hard to find one that's a decent size and comfy to carry around!

  13. I love carrying my camera around in order to capture those seemingly normal, everyday moments. I always feel though, that once photographed, something 'normal' becomes this lovely memory instantly! xoxo

  16. I've been trying to bring my camera with me more too. I rely on my phone for photos so much but it just isn't the same no matter how may mega pixels it has. It looks like you guys had a lot of fun. I've been craving roasted marshmallows! I need to get to a campfire stat!

    Enjoy! <3

  19. Poe is just one of the most adorable little girls! I'm originally from near Herman MO (Montgomery City) but I've lived in Brooklyn NY since 1995. I really enjoy reading your blog and seeing pictures of "home".

  20. The dog, the kids the sweet outside moments, this is all so dreamy! I'm sure the kids are really glad to have the puppy around, even if it is not "forever" :)

  21. What a beeeeautiful family! Even with her longish hair, Poe is sooooooo sweet.

  22. Power through Poe's hair growth, unless you want to maintain bang trims! They're a huge pain, especially with the really young ones. I tried to cut my son's bangs once, and he turned his head at the exact wrong moment. My scissors sliced upward into his hair and there was no saving it. He looked like Lloyd Christmas for a month or two. Awesome.

Anyway, her pretty little wispies will be long enough soon to tuck behind her ears! You can do it :)

  24. Don't cut her hair. It'll be long enough in no time to stay out of her face and it'll look so cute long.

  25. Poe is so cute, don't cut her hair, it won't take long for it to grow long enough to style differently without it getting in her face :)
