Weekly Wears: I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings

This may or may not be going through your mind right now:  "Girl!  Don't you know it's winter?!  In Missouri, no less??"  Well, how am I supposed to show off my sparkly new tattoo if I'm wearing that winter-appropriate sweater?  It's been healing for a couple of weeks and driving me a little crazy (itchy, you know), but it's finally feeling much better.  I've honestly had a little bit of a break-in period with this one.  After I had it done it took me several days to adjust, not knowing how I felt about having such a large, sudden change to my body.  Now that I'm over the initial shock I do love it.

Dress, Tights, & Belt: c/o ModCloth;  Knee Socks: Target;  Boots: Vintage;  Necklace: c/o Shlomit Ofir

Johnny was teasing me a little bit while we were shooting these about when my country album was being released.  I think it was the location + the cowboy boots, but we got a good chuckle out of it.

 xoxo Katie

  15. That's a lovely tattoo! I get that it takes some getting used to though, I'd feel weird too if I suddenly had something on I couldn't take off at night like I could with the rest I was wearing.

    Great outfit too:)

  19. What a fun outfit! Really my favorite- wish I had that creativity with clothes. The tatoo is beautiful and very sweet. I'm always impressed by large tatoos- such a committment! My dad has huge one's and he's never regretted it.

  25. Your new tattoo is gorgeous! I think we both got one near enough at the same time but mine is still not quite photo ready :) Just as well, it's pretty cold here in England too and taking shots tight-less (it's on my leg) will take some determination.

Love your outfit - cowboy boots are just the best :)

  34. Congrats on your tattoo! Your designer AND tattoo artist did a wonderful job, and it looks even more fantastic resting on your arm.
I was the same way. I love tattoos and was just getting more and more and more, then my left arm was a sleeve and I'd find myself looking at it in shock some days that that was *my* arm. It takes a while to get over that kind of shock, but it's well worth it, I think. Tattoos can be so beautiful.

  37. Oh, it's so beautiful! The colors are brilliant. I'm actually planning to get a bird tattoo as soon as I have the spare cash lying around (which could be as soon as next month or as distant as 10 years from now)! I'm considering either a painted bunting or a blue titmouse. The silly name of the latter is the only thing holding me back from going with that one. hehe

P.S. I'd totally buy your country album. :)
