Wednesday Wishes

Today I wish for:

A magic stopwatch.

(via weheartit.com)

You know the kind... push the button, freeze time for as long as needed... push the button, everything starts again and no one is wise to your mischief.  Okay, so YES, I would use this for a bit of mischief.  You would almost have to!  I would also use it for all the time during the day I seem to be lacking.  Home school is great, but being a teacher for most of the day, a little sewing bee at night, and trying to cram the rest of life in somewhere is a little challenging this week...

I wouldn't change it, though.  :)   xoxo Katie

Monday... Music and More

Yay, it's Monday!  I have to say, I had the loveliest weekend and a very
productive day today, so my week is looking great so far!  I put a few
Ghosties in the shop as promised, so if you've been wanting to snag one,
now is the time.  :)

I have weekend pictures to share, and I'm thinking of doing a special
homeschool post, but for now, I'll leave you with this:

Happy Music Monday!  xoxo Katie

Friday!

Hello, friends, and Happy Friday!  My week has been so weird-- at the beginning I would have sworn to you it was the end, and now that it really is the end, I can't believe how fast it's gone by.  I know, I know... Plus, I finally got back to the gym this week.  Yes, it IS as funny as you would imagine.  I look very pregnant and am surrounded by people trying very hard NOT to look like me.  ;)  No, it really is good, and hopefully I'll be getting some energy back.

Tonight will be dedicated to working, because I have several deadlines in the coming weeks.  Currently, I'm stitching on these:
It's going to be a brontosaurus and stegosaurus couple for a wedding cake.  I've actually almost finished both of them now.  I'll try to take proper pictures tomorrow.

In other news... my friend Aaron opened an Etsy shop.  It looks great and I'm so proud of him.  You should definitely stop by and take a look!
He does beautiful screen printed posters, envelopes, etc.  His shop is called Elkwing Prints.

Other exciting things from this week:
*Peanuts + Candy Corn = Oh my! Every year.  :)
*We've pretty much decided on a name for Aquaman (baby).  I'm not sure when we'll share.
*We are possibly traveling to O'Fallon tomorrow for the Strange Folk Festival.
*I received the sweetest package in the mail from Amanda this week.  :)
*Elsie's in Bust! Can you believe it?!  So proud of her!

I hope your weekend is wonderful!  I'm off to finish my little (and not-so-little) projects.  xoxo Katie

Wednesday Wishes

I'm starting a new post entitled "Wednesday Wishes".  I have tons of wishes (not just for 'stuff'... but sometimes...), and I thought this would be a fun way to share.

Today I wish for:

A robotic mini elephant that I could have as a pet.  Wouldn't it be the cutest to have a 3 or 4 foot elephant walking around your place (or in a sweet little house out back)?!  Plus, it's robotic so there would never be any stink or poo.  The ideal pet.  :)

I would buy him t-shirts and he would smell like peanuts.  xoxo Katie

What I Did on Tuesday...

Besides the usual things today (helping Hope with school work, grabbing lunch, etc), I avoided cleaning my house by working on other projects.  Here are a few peeks:

I covered a bulletin board with vintage fabric...

Hung a new home to house Blythes...

FINALLY mounted the pinata head from 2 years ago.  Hope named him Pancake. :)

What did you do today?  xo Katie

I'm In Love

I love these vintage pieces.  Shopping after baby is going to be so much fun.  :)

So pretty!  xoxo Katie

Friday From My Phone

Happy Friday, everyone!  I'm not currently doing anything overly exciting (at least not for blogging)... just trying to get unpacked from last weekend, packing orders, and sewing.  I thought for the time being I would share my week in photos from my phone.  :)

Our booth at the beginning of Renegade.  Eeek!

My helper standing in the rain (she wasn't thrilled about wearing the hat that morning...)  ;)

Fall clothes, pumpkin muffins, floral tights (that still fit from last year- YAY!)...

A stop at Jilly's on the way home from Chicago.  This vanilla cupcake with lemon-cream cheese icing and a touch of raspberry filling is my new favorite cupcake!

Hello Kitty waffles (I have too many pictures of food!).

A photo of me and my ever-growing belly.  This dress would be perfect if I could only zip it... ;D

This weekend will be filled with REST, a little bit of sewing (hopefully lots of ghosties), and too many trips to Starbucks.  What is it about Fall that makes us so crazy for the Bux?  :)  xoxo Katie

Update Time!

If you pop over to the shop, you will actually find animals (surprising, I know)!  I have decided to keep the ghostie for the time being... I really like seeing their sweet/spooky faces hanging from my chandelier in my studio.  I plan to do a ghost update in the next week or two, so you will still get a chance to snag one.  :)

I hope your day is lovely!  xoxo Katie

Update Tomorrow

I was going to hold onto my stock left over from Renegade, but I'm really itching to work on some new stuff, so I'm putting a few things in the shop tomorrow.  :)  I have postcards, a few hedgies, a ghost (unless I decide to keep him), and a couple of owls.  Hmmm... a time... let's say 4:00 CST.  That way I have plenty of time to sleep in (I've been CRAZY exhausted since Renegade) and shoot my pictures and all that fun stuff.  Yay!  Okay, tomorrow it is.  I hope to see you then!

Oh, and for everyone emailing about the fawn: the fawn was sold in Chicago, but I'm doing my best to make a few more.  I will hopefully have some to offer in the next week or two.  Until tomorrow...

Renegade Recap

Yay, yay, yay... we are finally home!  Renegade was great!  Some crazy things happened (ie: having no tent or tables, some thievery, etc...), but it wouldn't be a proper trip without some of that, right?  ;)  My family had a great time with Elsie and Jeremy, we met *SO MANY* sweet blog readers, and the weather behaved itself most of the time.  I couldn't really ask for a better time.  :)  Added bonus: we were right on the same corner as Starbucks.  Pretty sweet.

Did I mention that I had the cutest little helper ever???

As we were leaving the city, I realized that we never used the photo booth, and I never really got a chance to take any pictures around the fair.  I guess I'll have to do that next time!  xoxo Katie

P.S.  For more Renegade fun, check out Elsie's blog!

Renegade Chicago

We're off!  Consider my family as good as there, along with Elsie and Jeremy, who will be tending to the RVA table.  We'd love to see your wonderful faces, so please come by if you have a chance.  Plus, it always amazes me to meet blog readers!

Saturday and Sunday... hope to see you there!  xoxo Katie

Eeek! The Countdown

Renegade is just a few days away!  I have so much left to accomplish, and I'm trying to ignore the fact that there is rain in the forecast.  While I'm running around in panicky denial, I thought I'd share a few more new things with you.  :)

New postcards and wall hangings (that fawn is still a WIP)!

I love this funny little horse.  He's such a charming little fella!

Anyway, back to work for me.  Remember, ElsieCake and I will be sharing a table at the Renegade Craft Fair in Chicago this Saturday and Sunday.  I hope to see lots of you... RAIN OR SHINE!!!

My Baby Wears A...

Bow!

Yay yay yay!  I'm so excited!!!!  I was hoping for a girl, but was trying NOT to make myself overly disappointed if it wasn't.  Now, I'm off to do some sweet baby shopping...

xoxo Katie

Bow or Bow Tie?

Today is the day!  We go around 1:00 to find out if we are having a boy or a girl.  I have to say, I am incredibly nervous.  Going to the doctor always makes me nervous anyway, but today I get to know if I'm comfortably having another girl, or I'm diving into the great unknown with a boy.  Either way, I will be excited.  I've been asked several times if I have a feeling either way, but I REALLY don't.  I seriously have no clue.  So, I'll ask you:  do you think we're having a boy or a girl?  You have a 50% chance of being right!  ;)

Bow or Bow Tie?
I'll let you know later today.  xoxo Katie

Happy Long Weekend!

For a lot of you, this weekend is a long one.  While the weather is gorgeous here, I plan to squeeze in a little picnic (yep, again), as well as visit with some friends.  Otherwise, I'll be sewing up a storm.  I did get this in the mail today, so you can bet all your marbles I'll be enjoying it:

Hooray for new records!  I'd love to hear what you all are up to this weekend, long or not.  :)  xo Katie

Phil Selway

Have you heard that name before?  Probably.  Philip Selway is the drummer from Radiohead.  Ah, now it rings a bell, yes?  Have any of you heard his album Familial?  I'm pretty sure I'm smitten.

Progress.

This is my life as it stands right now.  I have the rest of this week, plus most of next to finish up what I'm taking to Chicago.  I'm beginning to think that people who sell prints and t-shirts are much smarter than I am when it comes to things like this.  ;)

I am learning a thing or two from these smarties and taking my Skunkboy t-shirts with me, as well as getting some postcards made.  I thing in the long run this will save my craft fair life.  ;)  I hope your day is wonderful.  xoxo Katie

Happy September!!!

Today it's rainy and cool, and I'm not at all ashamed to admit that I'm pretending it's Fall!  September is making me a very happy girl so far.  ;)  In celebration of this beautiful day, I thought I'd share some of my current Etsy favorites.

This narwhal print from Gingiber is fantastic!

I love these containers from Modish Vintage!

These little hats from Sweet Pea Toad Tots are just too precious!

This fox brooch from Deerface is perfect.  :)

We're off to Starbucks to enjoy this rainy day sipping on warm drinks and dreaming about the coming months.  xoxo Katie
